There are a few strong covers plus Track 17 (Jam 1&2)an unusual powerful and funk ridden jam the Beatles undertook. The second part of the jam is better though. The Beatles were not a good jam band as can be heard in many of their 1964-1968 session recordings. Still, this early Let it Be compilation is very clear and much better than the official releases; Let it Be/Naked.

Let It Be is the twelfth and final studio album by English rock band The Beatles, released on 8 May 1970 by Apple Records. Issued almost a month after the band's breakup, it was originally conceived as Get Back, a return to their earlier, less complicated approach to music. Rehearsals began at Twickenham Film Studios in London in January 1969 as part of a planned documentary film showing the Beatles preparing to return to live performance.
However, the concept for 'Get Back' kept changing. The first incarnation of the project was to be a documentary of the Beatles at work on a new album. The project started on January 2nd 1969 at Twickenham Film Studio with tensions right from the start. The early morning filming schedule wasn't very productive for a band that was accustomed to late night recording at Abbey Road. On January 31, 2003 it was officially reported that the un-Spectorized version of "Let It Be" would be released in the fall of 2003. But curiously it was also reported that the album will have the same track listing as the "Let It Be" album that was released in 1970. This poses one problem - two of the tracks on the 1970 album were NOT recorded during the January 1969 sessions. These two songs, "Across the Universe" and "I Me Mine".
