Bleed Like Me is the fourth studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on April 11, 2005, by Geffen Records. For this album, the band chose a straight rock sound reminiscent of their live performances instead of the electronica that permeated their previous album Beautiful Garbage (2001). The first recording sessions took place in March 2003, but were mostly unproductive due to passive aggression between band members and a general lack of direction

The album contains some political sentiment, as explained by the group’s lead singer, Shirley Manson. Critics mixed opinions on Bleed Like Me. Some regarded it to be the best album since their self-titled debut in 1995, while others felt the second half of the album tailed off. Bleed Like Me Q&A.

After the commercial disappointment of the musically adventurous Beautiful Garbage, they sound like they're trying very hard to reassert themselves into our collective consciousness. Despite being billed as a guitar album, Bleed Like Me more or less reworks their successful Version . template, combining slick studio elements with ostensibly live-band instrumentation. This is, however, no comeback: The album is full of big rock guitars anchored to big rock effects, but it somehow never manages either to sound big enough or to rock hard enough
