The German producer Florian Kupfer comes from the lo-fi end of the techno spectrum. His Explora EP appears on Technicolour, the house- and techno-oriented singles label under electronic heavyweight Ninja Tune, but he keeps his cards as close to his chest as ever. In fact, it's probably the heaviest, most brain-bending thing he's done yet. "Explora (Slave)" sets the record's abject tone with an invitation that quickly turns menacing.
